*Summary/Objective: *The Dispatch position will include, but not limited to scheduling drivers, routes, taking customer orders, and providing support to our drivers and internal team to meet the needs and demands of our customers in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
*Responsibilities:*
· Assists the dispatch team with the scheduling of drivers and provideing support to address their question or concerns.
· Proactively communicates with drivers and contractors – provide direction, announcements, route updates, changes etc.
· Greets drivers with a friendly, warm disposition at the beginning and end of their shift.
· Receive incoming requests, order, and directions.
· Answer all incoming calls.
· Detail all notes, information, and messages in writing.
· Input load information and other data accurately into the proper reports.
· Data entry and reporting as needed.
· Keep drivers engage and motivated.
· Provide delivery information to customers (as needed).
· Build rapport and relationships with the dispatch, sales, and operations as well as customers.
· Communicate with Field Safety Personnel regarding issues with jobs and assisting with finding resolutions.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
*Required Skills / Abilities:*
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Due to our diverse Driver population – Bilingual (Spanish) is Preferred.
· Customer-service focused – with extreme attention to detail.
· Strong computer skills / highly organized.
· Basic understanding of geographical area to facilitate routing.
· Proficient with or able to quickly learn dispatch and recordkeeping systems.
· Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.
· Ability to multitask work with shifting priorities.
· Microsoft office experience
